Alpam
Hi all, Five weeks ago I was taking Cymbalta 120mg and had just finished my second week on Clonazepam, I was feeling good but after 8 months didn't feel the Cymbalta was helping me. My pdoc agreed that we should cut out the Cymbalta, I was to drop from 120mg to 60mg for a week then stop altogether. I have gone from 300mg of Dothiepin (TCA) to nothing fairly quickly in the past with no ill effect but let me tell you this was not the case with Cymbalta. By the end of the second week, Cymbalta free for a week I truly had an understanding of what hell would feel like, never been as close to suicide in my life. At my next appointment my pdoc quickly got me back on the Cymbalta again at 60mg and three weeks later (today) instructed me to go back up to 120mg. I suggested adding another AD into the mix but he didn't want to make too many changes at once. But to cut a long ranting story short is there a best time to take Cymbalta? I have asked my doc and pharmacists who just say whenever is best for you. I don't feel an effect after taking them so anytime is a good time for me. Are there any advantages in taking them in the morning or at night? or even splitting it up to 60mg morning 60mg evening. The official PI only talks about doses up to 60mg as with all the local information.

Alpam
Yep 120mg to nothing over seven days wasn't fun at all. Cymbalta has only been around a short time here, I started it the month it came out and was my docs first patient on it. He has since said that he hasn't seen much literature about coming off it as it's only new here.
bluelikejazz
Wow- thats an extreme jump. I didn't notice any difference in the time of day that I take it. In the end the Cymbalta wasn't working at all, and 120mg just doubled the side effects. I felt much better once I stopped it, but if it works for you i'm glad. Do you take other meds? maybe just take them at the same time?
