Seroquel in the news

Recommended Posts

Well, everyone here who has taken (or is taking) Seroquel is well aware of the side effects. You might be interested in this article, which talks about the various suits against the company by people who have developed Diabetes 2 and other ailments. Here's the link:

The company (of course!) says that they spell everything out in the PI sheet. Read the article and judge for yourself.

I'm on 150 mg at night and an additional 50 PRN, and I haven't gained anything, despite the fact that I'm taking it with 45 mg of Remeron, which is also a notorious weight gain causer. They're both weight neutral for me.

As to whether it's helped, I can't speak to the label/high dose uses, but it's helped me a lot. It's absolutely murdered my nighttime PTSD symptoms (I almost never have those anymore) and my insomnia specifically. It also seems to help with my anxiety/depression, though I'm less clear on what exactly is going on there.

Anyway, I like quetiapine a whole lot, for what it's worth.

I'm a big fan of seroquel. My dosage has ranged from 50-400mg, without any real side effects, including weight gain. It's the only thing that's ever consistently helped me with sleep, and when the crazy starts ramping up, it does a good job of squashing it/making it more manageable & shorter, depending on how quickly I catch it & start increasing my dosage. Actually, come to think of it, there've been a couple of times when my dosage was up to around 800mg/day, for no more than a week though.
