peanutmommy
How long does it take for this stuff to build up in your system and start working? I'm weary from the constant supervision my son is requiring these days as we switch mood stabilizers.
Anelize
Have you checked www.crazymeds.us? They have a pretty extensive entry on Tegretol, I believe. For me, it took a couple of weeks to get over the side effects. I had pretty severe nausea and blurred vision, but it did go away.

blackbird
I have found that Tegretol sort of worked for me after a week on 400mgs (200 was too low) I get crazy racing thoughts and I think in songs and rhymes but I no longer embarrass myself by making really inappropriate comments to my fellow work colleagues or by demonstrating yoga poses in a butt-skimming mini-skirt. My mother remarked that 'there was no silly nonsense' from me this weekend (by silly nonsense she means making up songs and laughing hysterically at stupid jokes for hours on end in a 'crazy, mad laugh'). I still have a circus going on in my head but now I can control my behaviour and speech to a greater extent. Unfortunately, I'm still very psychotic which might have a lot to do with my problems. Hope your son gets better soon blackbird x
