Do they get better over time?

And what's propranolol like? Any big side effects with that?

It's not too bad right now, but I've spilled a whole cup of coffee, and it takes a lot of effort to do things like scooping flour and eating soup, and I feel clumsy. Sometimes my legs feel shaky going down stairs too. Just want to know more about the options.

Do you take the immediate release or extended release kind? If it's immediate release and you're currently splitting the dose, you could ask if it's okay to take it all at night. That way your peak blood level, and peak incidence of tremors, will be in the middle of the night when you're asleep. And your tremors will be lessened during the day.

Yeah, for me anxiety and caffeine make the tremors way worse.

I have not taken propanolol (so hopefully someone who has will chime in) but it was discussed for me. I guess the dose used for tremors is very low, so major side effects are unlikely.

I get lithium shakes. I take the extended release, split between morning and night doses. The shakes are mostly in my right hand and both arms, depending on where the arms are positioned. I can't take a decent photo any more, which sucks.

I've been on lithium for about three years, I've had the shakes for two. To be honest with you, I find the excessive thirst problem (with normal lith blood levels) much more annoying than the shakes. I know I could take a pill for it, but I already take five meds a day, so I'm not keen on adding any more right now.
