resonance
I took maxalt earlier today because I was having a migraine and now I feel like my arms and legs are too long and the kitchen is too large. I'm dizzy when I stand up and it seems like I would feel better if I were closer to the floor. On the up side I'm not having a migraine but I'm kind of freaked out because my body feels wrong. I actually took it a lot earlier today like lunch time. Maybe it's it going out of my system or not the Maxalt at all?
LunaRufina
That sounds like a migraine symptom, actually. It's something that I've experienced with my migraines and it sounds like you haven't before. But, as you get older, your migraines can change. One of the things you describe is macropsia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macropsia [that's a really piddly article. I'm looking for something more but I wanted to give you SOMETHING] Have you taken the maxalt before?
resonance
Thanks. I have a neuro appt Friday and I'll bring it up with her. Yeah, I took it several years ago. It made my migraines go away for about a day and then they would come back (like every abortive I've tried). Eventually it stopped working well. I tried the dissolvable form recently, which didn't do anything, and I had one regular 10mg and took it today. Everything around me still seems too large but my body seems the right size again now. LunaRufina
Sorry I couldn't find much more on macropsia but that really sounds like what you are talking about. Whether it's because of the med or the migraine, can't be sure. But I would lean toward the migraine, only because I didn't seen anything about macropsia, impairment of accomodation or stuff similar in vision issues other than flashes of light or blurred vision. What's strange is that though is normally you would have an aura and then the migraine. So. Hmm. Hope all the things get down to their normal size soon. resonance
Things are seeming more normal. I went through a brief period of feeling warm and fuzzy and now I'm really weak and shaky. And my migraine is coming back, I think. I'm going to have some food and see if it helps. I'm starting to wonder if I should call my neuro sooner rather than later. chipmunk
Any update? That happens to me when I'm about to get a migraine. Everything just seems louder, closer, just "off". When my vision starts to get blurry, that's when I usually realize that Hey! migraine coming! and I take my meds to try to head it off.
resonance
It was gone by the next morning and hasn't returned. I'll post another update if it happens again...
