Phoenix_Rising
I took my last 12.5 mg of Paxil on Thursday, March 12th. I did a four week taper to reach this point (from 40 mg to zero). Every week, I have cycled through depression (mostly) agitation, anxiety and a wee bit of hypo. The cycle typically lasts 4-5 days, then I get a break and it starts all over again. Does anyone know how long I can expect this to last? Thanks! Peace, Phoenix

Last time I stopped Paxil, I went from 20 to 15, 10, 5, 2.5 then 0 Sometimes a few weeks between each drop. When I finally reached 0, I had no withdrawal effect. AirMarshall
Your symptoms are not textbook, and there is no textbook answer. What if this is the true state of your bipolarity, and not residual from the paroxiatene? (For example). Seems like it took me 2-3 weeks to really get past the withdrawals when I stopped paroxitene, but I only had head/shift/dizziness symptoms. I know it sucks but it may take several weeks to stabizilize. Hope you feel better soon . a.m.
Phoenix_Rising
Vitriol: Yes. My taper schedule was 40 to 37.5 for one week; 37.5 to 25 mg for one week 25 to 12.5 mg for one week 12.5 to zero. Thanks. a.m.: Thank you for the information. I just need to know what I'm dealing with.
Velvet Elvis
The easiest way to get off it is to briefly switch to another SSRI and then quit that. If you're just now starting prozac, it should get better as that kicks in.

I started a 20 mg dose of Prozac at the beginning of the taper and increased to 40 mg approximately two weeks ago. So I have a little hope, eh? Thanks!
