I don't know if this has anything to do with anything, but here goes...

Whenever I raise my dose of risperidone, 5-7 days later I feel really strange. It goes away after a little while, I ride it out. No problem.

Last increase was from 1 mg to 1.5 mg. That one didn't sit well - weirdness did not go away. So I dropped back down to 1 mg several days ago.

I'm still feeling weird. But it seems concentrated at particular times. It usually hits in the late afternoon. What's up with that? (I take it in the evening, btw.)

And here's the thing that seems really odd, that I really want input on: it seems like it hits me most right after a meal. What's up with THAT? I know there's some diabetes risk with APs - could this have anything to do with that?

The strange feeling is partly mental (everything seems flat and detached, like a movie), but there's also a physical component - lightheadedness and slight queasiness.

Scratching my head...

Olanzapine, quetiapine and clozapine (the 'pines') are much more likely to cause metabolic issues than risperidone, ziprasidone and paliperidone (the 'dones').

The dones are more known for causing movement disorders.

Wow! I just posted something similar the other day. Not concerned with it being risperdal, cuz I've been on that for years. I felt very strange. It was unlike anything I ever felt before. Very difficult to describe, since it was more than disassociating. I started taking anfranil 3 weeks ago, so I chalked it up to that. It's mostly gone now, but it was very uncomfortable while it lasted. I don't know about the diabetes, and if it could be related. I have a family history of it, but my glucose test came back normal, so...

Very weird indeed. I hope you feel more real soon. I know how unnerving it can be to feel like this!
