Will I ever sleep normal again!

I cant sleep, that i it! I lay there for hours stairing off in to space, I have tried tylenol PM, which just makes me dizzy. My pdoc, thinks I am crazy, well knows actually (chuckle). When I do sleep I have nightmares, really wacked crap. things are ditorted now because of no sleep, so I am taking caffeine pills 2x a day 6 am and again around 3pm. I stop my caffeine at 6 and lay down at 10...it isnt working. I sleep maybe 2 times a week like a normal person, and when I do I wake up feeling hung over, my whole body hurts and I am miserable this has been going on for a long time, it seems to be getting worse.

My pdoc doesnt listen to me at all, I have no choice at this point for docs since it is free. I dont know what the heck to do. Any ideas, I have tried as I said before over the counter stuff, tylenol PM, nyquil, alcohol, sleepy time tea, hot showers, reading, noise machine. What else is there?

Maybe I can just bang my head off a wall until I am unconsious? ;)

As for your pdoc, I'm not quite sure what advice to give you. I'm new to seeing a pdoc, but maybe other people can give suggestions on how to reason with him.

But I do think you'd feel better if you got off the caffeine pills!!! You'll be agitated and grumpy and exhausted for a little bit... but those pills are probably completely screwing up your sleep schedule. I have the best results for sleep when I stop drinking any caffeine around 2 (when going to bed at 10). It's a feat I don't accomplish often, as I'm addicted to Diet Dr Pepper! :) I'm a chronic insomniac, so I know how much it sucks to not sleep right... but caffeine pills are probably making you feel worse! Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't know anything about caffeine pills!

As for OTC stuff, I'm not sure what to tell you, but I bet the members on this board can help!
