Cymbalta- Can You Ever Go Back?

I've heard some pretty bad things about cymbalta like once you start taking it you can never stop. I recently reduced my dosage from 90 mg. down to 60 mg. and I have been pretty bad off ever since then. I had some minor brain zaps for a couple of days but that's not the problem. It's the sadness and the crying. I've been a mess since going back down in dose. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks and I know I could call but it's always the same thing wait until you see me and we can talk about it. I know sometimes it takes time for your brain to readjust and you have to just wait it out. A week isn't really a lot of time to know what's going on. But I am scared and hope someone can tell me that it's going to get better. Because I don't know how much longer I can stand feeling like this.

I was on Cymbalta for a year and had no difficulty whatsoever getting myself off it. Don't believe everything you read---all of our bodies are very different. Having said that, if you really are feeling awful, you should report this to your doctor.

If you are having difficulty with each step down, maybe your doctor can suggest something. I think you also have to keep in mind that you will be going on another AD, and maybe that one will do the trick for you. (I'm assuming you will be taking another AD.)

Drink lots of water for the next few weeks---I think it helps to flush bad stuff out of your body. And please do call your doctor if you feel overwhelmed or suicidal.

Man, just try and call your doctor and say that it's pretty much an emergency and that you feel like shit and need to talk about it now. I can't believe your doctor wouldn't discuss matters like this unless he is making money off it. If that honestly is the case, GET A NEW DOCTOR. That would piss me off to no end. You need to talk to your doctor as soon as possible about this. A little inconvenience to him could be a life saver for you. CALL CALL CALL!

I've never been on cymbalta, so I have no idea what to tell you to give you hope about it, I just hope you feel better soon. CALL THE DOCTOR!

I guess everyone is different, but I am one of the unlucky ones with Cymbalta.

I have come off 300mg of Dothiepin in a week, 20mg of Valium overnight after a year of daily use with no real problem, but when I tried to lower my Cymbalta, it was the closest I have ever come to actual suicide. So currently I am on a drug that hardly helps with a pdoc who has no idea what to do.

I did have a lot of problems coming off cymbalta, but that's rare. I ended up breaking open capsules, and going down really slowly which made things easier.

Also, it's possible that the crying is due to the fact that you now have unmedicated depression, and not necessarily the withdrawal. Does that make sense? The brain zaps are v. likely to be withdrawal.
