rein
I would love to hear of other experiences. My nephew just started it yesterday and it looks like he had what appeared to be a psychotic episode..anyone else has something similar?
daisy
I like it better than Adderall XR. It has much less of a come-down feeling for me. It also seems to last a little longer.
Velvet Elvis
I think taking any stimulant if you have untreated bipolar is a bad idea. It can just destabilize things. You normally need to treat the the bipolar first and the the ADHD second.
rein
Well..I don't think he is Bi Polar. Not sure why you thought so. Oh yeah..ETA He started it two weeks ago not just yesterday. Oops
null0trooper
Well..I don't think he is Bi Polar. Not sure why you thought so. It's unusual for a therapeutic dose of a stimulant to trigger anything like psychosis. Many of the extreme side-effects listed are more likely the documented results of drug abuse, or something like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia being destabilized. I don't know actually if he has any flavors of MI. He has been depressed but hasn't had a psychotic episode before so I guess we jumped to the conclusion that it must be the med. He is dealing with his mom learning she is struggling with what looks like DID..But from what I have read, the likelihood of his developing something similar is pretty much zero. It's not passed on per se which makes sense. Thanks for your replies though..I just can not find much on this drug! Is it that new??
null0trooper
Thanks for your replies though..I just can not find much on this drug! Is it that new?? From what I recall, it's only been on the market a bit over a year. Someone had the idea to slow the release of amphetamine into the body, and reduce the abuse potential, by linking an amino acid to the structure. That it makes a patentable medication out of one of the older psych meds still in use is another "benefit"
