ehygon
so i had a massive med change, because none of the meds i was on were really helping me. so i went from zoloft, zyprexa, and ativan, to geodon, klonopin, and lamictal. all at once, because i was smart like that and convinced my doc to do it. the problem is, now i'm having those fucking brain zaps (you depressed people who have been around the block know what i mean), and i don't have a clue what's causing it. I have logically (based on my own knowledge) that it's either the geodon or zoloft withdrawal. I'm not sure if i need another dose of G, or if I just came off zoloft too fast (200mg to 0mg, totally the best idea ever! ) and this will pass (it damn well better). they aren't as severe as other times i've had them, but is it worth calling my pdoc for? there really isnt much he can do about it, unless he has secret knowledge and knows which med is giving me hell. Phoenix_Rising
I am also doing a huge med switch, so I feel for you. Are you still taking a benzo? I have taken Seroquel (300 mg during the say and 200 at night) and klono (2.5 mg spread throughout the day) and they have made the med switch bearable. (This was at the suggestion of my pdoc). I wish you the best of luck and hope that you are able to get off the old and find something new that works. Take care and be kind to yourself. Peace, Phoenix

Well if it is the going-from-200-to-0 that's causing the brain zaps, he could change the dosage and wean you off them more slowly. That might help. If it was me, I'd call pdoc. ehygon
solved, after nearly killing myself last night from the sheer agony, i called the doc today and he called in a rx for 100mg/day. I didn't even make it 24 hours from last night when i took 5 year old zoloft to ease my pain before the zaps set in again. never going on ssri's again, I would honestly rather die a terrible death. boatsie
oh those brainzaps.... had em so bad BEFORE I even went on anything, in fact they were the final final pentultimate assault to my body. like jolts of electricity through my head.... and then when i went on the paxil brain zaps and head contortions (id wake up with em, feel like my head was gonna be jerked right off its axis..... wft? Im glad you got some zoloft. last year when i went thru the effexor to pristiq switch i was right on the verge of the zaps, know the signs by now. used to be docs gave you this real vague look like you were from outer space or really an unreliable source when you talked about em... not any more. but then i guess after 15 years big pharma can't hide it any longer. hope you do better. seroquel during the day? OMG, after 2 days on 150 xr at ight i am toast and back to my 3 mgs of ativan..... god pray this works for me, pray. solved, after nearly killing myself last night from the sheer agony, i called the doc today and he called in a rx for 100mg/day. daisy
Oh man... that sounds awful. I'm glad you called your doctor and got something sorted out. Are you feeling all better??? I've never experienced these brain zaps and I hope I never do! But I do agree with you on one thing... never going on SSRIs again.
