New guy!

Recommended Posts

Well, first of all I'd like to say Hello!

Secondly, I think I owe a lot of you a thank you, you may have saved my life.

I figure the best way to get to know me is first through what defines me, because I don't believe my MI defines me.

My real name is Landon.

I'm 20 years old and I live in Kansas City.

I work as a server and am in school at a local community college.

I am shy, shy, shy. But I think posting on here will definately help.

I'm a capricorn and don't necessarily believe in astrology but I do believe in self-fulfilled prophecy and controlling your own destiny.

Now for why I feel like I fit in so well here.

I suffer from and been Diagnosed by numerous doctors as MDD/SAD, PTSD, GAD, ADD, and am a recovering addict. I say recovering because I think all your life you remain an addict but I've been clean for over a year.

I'm gay. Depending on your personal belief you may think Homosexuality is a MI but I do not. I think it's the cruel sad world we live in that cause so many LGBT youth to develop mental disorders from being rejected and abused by Parents, Peers, and complete strangers.

I don't want this to go on forever I just want you to have a general idea of who I am. I was a skeptic of PSYCH drugs because of my past with addiciton. But to be honest, if it weren't for them I do not believe I would be around today.

The meds I'm on right now are Wellbutrin XL 150 and Alprazolam PRN amd Suboxone. Very costly, as I have no insurance. My medical bills are unbelievable. But that's not important. I am alive. ;)

Sorry for the long intro. Just think this place is great.

Hello Landon, and welcome ;)

I'm gay. Depending on your personal belief you may think Homosexuality is a MI but I do not.

I'm sorry you have to be exposed to people who have that opinion. I doubt you'll find anyone here who shares that view of homosexuality.

Hello Landon

It's great that the meds are helping you and congrats on beating addiction for a year. That is amazing!

I am sorry you've had to come into contact with such ignorance and prejudice regarding sexuality...

Welcome!

Anyone that believes that, needs to get THEIR head tested as far as I'm concerned.

I fall into the "have my cake and eat it" category (no pun intended! Well, not much anyway). As far as I'm concerned there is no place for prejudice of any kind in our society, so I challenge that viewpoint wherever I can. I'm lucky in that I also work for a pretty forward-thinking employer (a law firm?! Wow!) and a good deal of our partners are openly gay and I think that's great that there is no assumed need to hide your sexuality where I work (not that its ever stopped me though) :)

Blimey, I went on longer than I meant to. I just meant to say HI and welcome to Crazyboards. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine. Glad to hear that although you have reservations about taking meds due to your past addiction issues that you are doing so anyway, but that you are aware of the possible problems. You sound like you have your head screwed on right!

Jump right in. Everyone round here is great! :);)

Hey, Landon!!!

Welcome amongst us! Good to meet you!

I really could not give two hoots what your sexual preference is - I just don't want to see it, whatever it is!

(What's with everyone having to tell everyone such private detail anyway?

Are we one of these days, going to have to admit what our preferred positions are, as well as how many times a week, as well as how many partners per week?)

I am straight, but I don't think I know if I would like a straight position, and am not sure if this is going to have to be standing straight or lieing straight or what. Would I want my man to be straight? OK. I can go places with this, but I won't.

I abhor prejudice and that was my way of telling you.

Welcome, I am never wacko, just sometimes maybe slightly hypo!!!

PS - They do warn us not to have too much personal, identifyable info...? I could find you very easily could I not?

Hi there, welcome to CB!

Like Karin said I would Edit your entry and remove the detailed person info, be a little vague about work place and things like that.

You should read the rules, so you know what you should do to protect your self on the internet and the rules of these boards.

Homosexuality isn't an MI in my perspective, it is your life style and your preference, like a guy only liking brunettes or a girl only liking men in uniform. lol ;)

We are all here when you need us, also you have a blog, so you can journal and people can also respond to that too!

Wow that was so wonderful thanks for such a warm welcome! I knew that participating would be way more beneficial than just being a ghost member.

Seeing so many people suffering from similar MI and being so positive really gives me hope.

;)

YOU GUYS ROCK!

Hello there Landon! Welcome to CrazyBoards!

I figure the best way to get to know me is first through what defines me, because I don't believe my MI defines me.

That's a great attitude to have, well done! I sometimes get in the rut of figuring my depression is all that there is to my personality, and it's can be a huge block to recovery.

I like the way you seem to come across as self-aware and quite confident/opinionated (even if you are shy!)

My name is Karis. I'm fifteen. It's nice to meet you. I'm not sure what else to say about myself, so I'll leave it at that. Feel free to contact me via msg or w/e on here though!

Glad you like CB.

As for the girls only liking men in uniform comment below me, that's a little strange. I'd be weirded out if someone only fancied me when I was wearing a uniform. O_o Homosexuality, however, doesn't bother me at all. I'm not sure about my sexuality as of yet..
