Fever, heat stroke, and hyperthermia are all listed as side effects on the PI sheet. I don't have numbers, but I'd imagine they're fairly common SEs. IIRC, acetylcholine is involved in thermoregulation, so it's not suprising that an anticholinergic medication would have this effect.

EDIT: hypo -> hyper

Thank you Aurochs.

a.m.

p.s. Picture, if you will, those soldiers who fought in Desert Storm who were taking similar tablets as a precaution against nerve gas while wearing chemical suits, face masks, carrying 70lb field packs in 120 heat! ;)

I'm sorry they lied to you Aurochs, but the label for cogentin states you should avoid getting over-heated. It states drink lots of water and avoid hot weather and direct sunlight. It's a good thing if the soldiers could handle it but you can't avoid the warning signs that state you should avoid hot weather and be careful of heat exhaustion. With that I'd also like to add it states you should get up slowly because it could cause dizziness.

Umm... what?

Yes, the PI sheet does say all those things. It says them because it also says that hyperthermia (ie overheating) is a fairly common side effect. I'm not sure where the conflict between those two statements is that you would say that "they" lied to me.
