My doc gave me lots of Seroquel to try, so far the 150mg works but to get back on my sleep schedule I'll need one of the 200mg tonight....how much is too much for a 120 lb. person? I read on here somewhere that a person was on 1,000 mg. a night, is that possible??? I know I don't need that much, but just wanted to hear some feedback from others who were on it.....how often? How much?

Hey,

I think a lot of it depends on what you're on Seroquel for.

The people who are on larger doses (over 300 mg, I'd say) are mostly on it for their bipolar or, occasionally, MDD.

Those of us who are on it for sleep or anxiety tend to be on smaller doses.

I'm on it for sleep and anxiety, and I take 150 mg at night and an additional 50 mg in the morning, and sometimes if things are shitty, I take a little extra on a PRN basis.

It sounds from your post like you're taking it for sleep. If so, it might help you to know that my pdoc says sleep dosing is 25-200 mg. I've personally noticed that I tend to have a "sweet spot" and that nothing above or below it helps - you don't always get more efficacy with a higher dose.

Personally, nothing below 150 mg helps me sleep, and if I go to 200, I find that I get less help. But that's just me. YMMV.

If you are just taking it for sleep, then I would think a low dose would do it - 50-150mg.

I take very high doses because of schizophrenia, and its fantastic. But for sleep, stay low, i think. You don't need the extra power by the sounds of things, and higher doses may make you too drowsy and flat, if you don't need it.

It is a wonderful drug for sleep!
