I recently (4 weeks ago) started Celexa for my depression/anxiety. I was in a bad depressive episode at the time and was not very anxious. At that point, I was already on 150 mg of Seroquel IR at night for sleep/nighttime PTSD.

Two weeks ago, I found myself really anxious and agitated. Called pdoc. She added an additional 50 mg of Seroquel IR in the morning.

This past week, I have been less depressed, but exponentially more anxious. PTSD-type anxiety with trouble sleeping and nightmares, and the other kinds of anxiety as well. Just really horrible anxiety about all kinds of things. I'm feeling really reactive and panicky and generally gross, and my dissociative issues are coming out to play as well.

Today at around 6, I started to get the feeling that my brain was itching (this is an anxiety thing for me). I decided to take an additional 50 mg of Seroquel (I'll knock down my nighttime dose to make up for it) and it solved the problem.

I think I'm not getting adequate coverage from my Seroquel - it's not taking care of the PTSD stuff all night long anymore, and I'm still having a lot of trouble with daytime anxiety.

I'm wondering about using XR or some combination of XR and IR to help, or possibly increasing my dose. I'll talk to pdoc next time I see her if the anxiety is still this bad, but I want to know what to talk to her about. I thought maybe taking XR in the morning, and then doing 100 IR + 50 XR at night or something. I'm pretty sure they make XR in 50 mg pills here - I had a sample of them once way back at the very beginning.

What do you guys think? XR or increased dose? I'm hoping the Celexa will start to help with the anxiety, but my current anxiety level is intolerable.

So what dose of serqouel are you on now? I'd definitely recommend increasing the dose - by the sound of it you need to!

I'm on 150 at night and 50 in the morning. This past week, I've found that I've been absolutely NEEDING an additional fifty here and there - gotta talk to pdoc about that on Thursday.

Update: Pdoc switched me to 50 mg of XR in the morning and 150 of IR at night. So far, I like it. It's much smoother and it gives me a more constant anxiety control. I'm a little drowsy and a little hungry and I've been having horrible headaches, but the switch was totally worth it.

Hope this goes.

I have suffered massive depression and GAD for years.

Had 13 ECT treatments with good success

Anxiety has increased with starting a new job.

Dr and I talked and I tried 150 mg Seroques xr at dinner and 100mg reg seroquel at bed.

Seems to be working well.

I used to be on the XR type and it worked ok. Did a better job with the anxiety then the normal kind but didn't cause as much of a sedation though. Do you have any klonopin, ativan or xanax or something like that that can ease the anxiety.
