papertrees
I feel extremely bad right now. Really agitated and depressed and I even considered cutting myself again, except that my cutter is rusty and won't work. I'm already on 5mg abilify, 6 mg invega and 100mg lamictal and 2 mg biperiden. Should I reach for emergency meds? (I have risperdal stacked here as well as clonazepam). I feel really shitty. I would like this to end. Will taking an extra dose of risperdal 2mg help calm me down? Or perhaps clonazepam? But I've built a tolerance against clonazepam already. I find that 2mg just doesn't cut it anymore. What to I do? I'm in deep suicidal shit and my pdoc is not replying. Karin
... no suicide, OK? Just before you do that, there is a really, really interesting thing to read about that, which I think VE wrote. I'll go see if I can find the link for you.
papertrees
thanks for your fast reply. but what do i do? what can i take?
Karin
Oh, Girl, I know nothing of meds, I can't help with that and until someone comes on-line who does know - you and I are gonna chat. So in the mean time, open up a new window in your browser, and go see if you can find that thing written by Velvet Elvis. I'll also see if I can do it. OK? papertrees
what's the topic about?
Karin
Oh, and by the way, I live in another country, so I don't recognise the names of the meds you take anyway.... I might send you to take headache tabs, thinking it is stuff to make you feel better? Wouldn't THAT be something!
papertrees
their generic names are aripriprazole, paliperidone, biperiden, lamotrigine and clonazepam. i can't find the thread by VE.
bluelikejazz
Are you alone right now? I'm sorry things are so awful right now. Considering you're feeling suicidal, you need to have somebody with you. If that's not possible, or you aren't safe, just call an ambulance or get somebody to take you to ER. If you have PRN meds prescribed, I think you should take them. They won't make you more agitated, and they will likely make you sleep which is fine until pdoc gets back to you.
bluelikejazz
papertrees, Can you let us know how you are when you get a chance? I'm hoping you took the meds and are sleeping right now. More people will be on in about 2-3 hours, if you still wanted information about the meds i'm sure they will be able to help. Google says the clonazepam should work within about 30 minutes, still looking for info on the risperadone.
papertrees
I took 1mg of clonazepam and 1 mg of risperdal. Still haven't gotten a reply from my pdoc. It calmed me down a bit. I plan to take 1mg more of clonazepam and the otehr half of the risperdal before I go to sleep. I'm just concerned because that will be 3 antipsychotics in my system... I don't know how that will affect me tomorrow., But I'm calmer now, much better than a while ago. Thanks for all your concern, I hope my pdoc replies soon. I think my lamictal needs to be bumped up to 150mgs or 125mgs. I've been getting bouts of depression the past few days. And I know lamictal is good for bipolar depression. dancesintherain
yeah, the lamictal will hopefully provide good long term relief, it just sucks to have to titrate up so slowly. for a lot of people, the dosage can go up to 150mg or 200mg and still mainly have an antidepressant effect (I'm at 125 and might still go upward). i've found risperdal really good when i need a major chilling out effect, though mine isn't prescribed prn and i'm a little hesitant to take it other than as prescribed. that said, if no pdoc response, it's important to keep yourself as calm as possible--which might involve self-medicating for a bit? papertrees
Yeah.. I am self-medicating right now. The risperdal is not a PRN med, I just have some stock leftover from when I was on it. I'm curious as to why my combo doesn't handle it. Maybe I must up my lamictal, but I asked my pdoc and he hasn't replied yet. He's always slow to reply. Karin
Hello girl! I am so glad to see you are better! I am on 200 mg Lamictal, and it really does me very well. I take Wellbutrin XL in the morning, and Topomax at night as well. I did take me about two months of really, really sticking it out to get to stabilising on this combo... it was tough going, but eventually, I managed to drop the sleeping tablets, everything. I still have the sleeping tabs and Ativans for a crisis, but mostly, I am fine. Oh, yeah, sometimes when I am "hopped up", I drink camomile tea at night. papertrees
thanks for the suggestion karin. I think I'll take the rest of my medicines in a while. The risperdal calmed me down. Very well. I cannot even feel the invega working. maybe i should just switch to risperdal? Maybe. I can't feel the drugs in my system calming me down... Karin
Girl, I am really concerned that you could be taking too many different kinds of meds, following to quickly? Is that not a real danger with what you are swallowing there? If you can feel things working too fast, is it really good for you? I really, really want to suggest that you rather just first take a read around on the board, or any one of the other boards, try, just try, to focus somewhere else? I am leaving my office shortly to go to lat afternoon meetings, but will check in with you when I get home at about 7 tonight, OK?
papertrees
Thanks. I'm agitated again and depressed. I'm trying to focus on different things, but my focus is lost. I can't take any more of this.
bluelikejazz
have you called pdoc and said this is urgent? I don't know what time it is there, but if it's office hours call now and say it is an emergency. I hate to see you do another night like this. SunshineOutside
Papertrees, I hop it helps too. I know you've been stuggling a long time. I was thinking that you had done DBT. If so, are you able to use some of your skills?
