witchywoman
My pdoc just took me off Lexapro after a bad reaction (if your interested I have a thread in the antidepressants board). He has now put me on Lithium. I started on the Lexapro for depression and anxiety which got worse with the Lexapro. So, does Lithium help with depression? I always thought it was for mania, but maybe Im wrong. He told me if this works he'll only have me on my mood stabilizer (Trileptal) and Lithium. Does that sound right??? He has started me at 450 mg. nalgas
Lithium is one of very few things that can help fairly well with both mania and depression, and it's sometimes used for depression even in people who aren't bipolar, usually as an add-on to another med that isn't quite working well enough by itself. When it works, it often works extraordinarily well for people (you can find a bunch of people on this site who are huge fans of their lithium), so if other stuff has been giving you trouble, it's worth a shot.
