bluelikejazz
Hey Josh. Let me make sure I understand you. What is your diagnosis? is it schizophrenia? Was it a psychiatrist who put you on invega? Most antidepressant medications take 6-8 weeks to work. Sometimes it can take time for you to find the right one, but you won't feel like this forever. Does your doctor know you have stopped the invega? I'd suggest you tell him about how it makes you feel like you lose interest, rather than just stopping it yourself. Welcome to CB. JOSH28
yes he thought i might have schitz. but i have never had hilusinations or any kind of anxiety at all really until recently i thought i was very normal but after taking this invega im not so sure it hasnt damaged me permenantly. i told him i was very disorganised and made some bad decisions .and now im finding it hard to sit down and watch a movie or to even play a game of backgammon and ive also found it hard to get an appetite altho my appetite on the invega was very good tho im not feeling to bad today so far. but yesterday was not a good day. tryp
Hey, I'm glad to hear that you're not feeling so bad today. In my experience, most medications will not permanently make you worse. They can make you very uncomfortable, but they should not damage you permanently. Please call your psychiatrist or whoever prescribed you the medication and let them know that you're having trouble - these problems can often be worked around, and it's important to let the people taking care of you know these things so they can help you. Additionally, the first few weeks on a new medication tend to be the roughest - often, side effects will die down as your body gets used to the med. It is good to give a new medication at least a month to work unless the effects are truly intolerable and/or dangerous, and even then, stopping should be only done in communication with your doctor. Keep posting and letting us know how you're doing, and please call your doctor if you can.

Generica
Hi Josh, I was going to reply on your other post but saw this one going too. I am really glad to hear that you are on the prescribed amount of your Zoloft. Yeah, it could be making you tired, but that will go away at its own rate. Ride it out & it will be worth it when you start to feel better. Antidepressants are good for not just depression, but demotivation (symptom of depression) panic, and anxiety. I am hoping that any cloud you may have been under will lift once you have gone through the adjustment period & it kicks in. I can't take antidepressants because I am bipolar and they make me manic... but I have friends who say "I LOVE Zoloft!!!". Your doctor will be better able to assess you once you have got past this adjustment stage. Glad you haven't had hallucinations, I guess maybe he was considering 'disorganised thinking' which can also be part of schizophrenia. Keep going to see him & you'll either have that ruled out or done more investigation into what is going on. And don't rule out ever needing Invega again if that's what he says though. For now, I really hope you are resting while you adjust to your meds, not demanding too much of yourself, and that the nicotine patch is stopping any cravies for a ciggie. Do come back any time you need to talk something through or find someone to cheer you up! It's a pretty supportive bunch & there is so much to keep you occupied on this board, it is unreal. Generica
Hey Josh, I hope you're feeling well & keeping warm. At least if it is cold that is reason to be glad not to be smoking - going outside in the cold and all! Thanks for asking re: the Seroquel and replacement. No, I can't take any antipsychotics at all anymore. Which scares me a bit, cos I do get psychotic with mania and depression. But I work very closely with a really good psychiatrist and we will just have to work things out as we go. Right now, I'm having an okay week. So just appreciating that while it is here
JOSH28
well ive felt very low all day today.. but tonight im much better .. it may have something to do with the nicotine withdrawal but im doing good i think its been 4 days no ciggys
tryp
Good job Glad you're better tonight. Sometimes people are better at different times of the day - I'm usually better in the morning and then worse as the day goes on. Maybe you're the opposite.
