mika
Your level could be too high. And yes, it can be a sude effect as well. I love your avatar, btw.
AirMarshall
Nope. Don't recall hearing of it, and it's not listed on the PI sheet, though there are plenty of other neuromuscular complaints. What symptoms do you have? What other meds are you taking? a.m. p.s. Akathesia is typically described as a great restlessness and inability to sit still, an urge to be constantly in motion, sometimes with a feeling of doom. To me it feels like I am ready to jump out of my skin. hm.
null0trooper
has anyone had akathisia from lithium or heard of this happening? Akathisia and other extrapyramidal symptoms aren't very likely from lithium. As far as I know, it does not directly affect dopamine production or any of the dopamine receptors. mika
You can get the shakes from lithium but not akathesia. Akathesia sucks! Definitely get your levels checked.

mika
I had akathesia on every AAP I was on. Risperdal in particular. It was bad. But I was on 2mg. Once they started me on cogentin, everything went away. Do you think you might be willing to try that med? Or artane? It helps a lot. For the time being you can take an occasional ativan to stop it. I hope something works.
