scatty
I've been on my AD for a while and it's helping, especially for my OCD. I have no sexual desire. Nothing. Nada. How can I tell my older, wiser pdoc that this is happening, never mind if he's not heard of the wellbutrin thing, and thinks I'm an idiot. Suggestions needed, please! olga
Scatty, I would try to be just matter-of-fact and talk about it like you would about drugs giving you the sweats or headaches. If he starts to pooh-pooh it, you should point out the following: 1) A healthy sex life helps a lot with your outlook on life and strengthens your relationship with your SO. 2) You're only in your 40s and could easily have an active sex life for many years. It's too early to stop. 3) It's exercise and is good for your physical health. As for suggesting WB, I think you have to tread lightly with that. Maybe you could say that you've heard that some ADs help with reduced libido. He might not react well if you asked for a specific drug. I hope other people will post and give you their suggestions. olga

I would just be straight up about it... and I have. Can you still have an orgasm? Don't have to answer if you don't want to. But on effexor I couldn't. And my pdoc at the time, added WB hoping to fix it. It didn't bring back the O but it sent my libido through the roof. I was hoping it would do the same thing this second time around on WB alone, but it really hasn't. Just talk about the problem you're having and you've heard that augmenting with WB might help and ask what the pdoc thinks.
