mika
Is it better to take your dosage in the morning or night. I am assuming morning since it can be activating? I took it before but my memory is shot. Thanks
netsavy006
Geodon is taken 2x/day with food according to my pdoc. You take one dose in the morning with breakfast and one dose in the evening with dinner. I see you have 40mg listed so that would be 20 and 20. Velvet Elvis
If you find it activating take it in the morning, if you find it sedating, take it at night. I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference. It has a fairly shot half-life though so you'll probably want to be consistent with it.
witchywoman
I had to take mine all at night because it made me so tired. We tried a morning and night dosage and I would sleep most of the day, so I took it all at night.
unipolarbear
I take my full 80 in the morning and haven't had any problems with it *knocks on wood." Although, I'm hinting at maybe suggesting we move up during my next pdoc appt. According to [link=http://www.crazymeds.us"'>http://www.crazymeds.us" target="_blank]http://www.crazymeds.us[/link], geodon has a very short half life and also creates a very short memory span. I can say this it true for sure on both accounts, but ymmv. VE's assessment is very accurate for most meds. Do what works best for you because ymmv (your mileage may vary) Thanks, A (Edit: I have been having serious hypo problems in the evening and at night so we're adding 40mg at night in addition to the 80mg in the morning. Seems to be working so far....)
mika
Thanks guys My doctor called and said it was okay to take it at night eventhough I take my risperdal then. I am starting to get the side effects I got last time. Weirdest one is the quivering lip. As I got higher on the dose last time it felt like there was a weight on my lower lip! I am only going up to 40mg this time so hopefull it doesn't get that bad. So far it hasn't slowed down my "what if" and racing thoughts, which is what its supposed to do along with the risperdal (only on 0.5mg because I cut the dose in half since I was concerned about weight loss). So we'll see....
