ehygon
I quit geodon and zoloft cold turkey about 17 days ago. At first, it was painful as shit, but it started to subside. However, it's now coming back with a vengence, and Im wondering what other people's experiences with this are. I didnt have it get WORSE after it got BETTER when i stopped other meds, so i'm a bit sketched out.
Phoenix_Rising
I have a couple of thoughts about this. First, perhaps the geodon and/or zoloft was actually helping you. You got off the meds, went through withdrawal and felt better, but there's no guarantee that getting off the meds had anything to do with feeling better. You may be feeling worse because as your body realizes that no more is coming and it needs it, it starts to "complain". My other thought is that one or both of those meds was interacting with one of your other meds. And, again, as those meds leave your system, your brain starts to miss the interaction and you feel worse. Just a thought.
witchywoman
I also recently (about 2 weeks ago) quit Geodon 80 mg cold turkey. It was bad at first, but got better. I did have a couple days where Im guessing I was a bit psychotic (I thought everyone could read my thoughts and hated me). This happened after I got better. Now Im depressed, so Im not sure if it's because I quit the Geodon (Im now on Seroquel XR 100 mg) or what is wrong. I have an appt with pdoc on wednesday so I guess I'll find out then. Hope you figure it out and start feeling better. Just wanted you to know you're not alone.
ehygon
oh, it wasnt a working combo to begin with. I was taking my geodon/zoloft, and i was getting the brain zaps, and still having psychotic symptoms, along with lots of rage. I don't believe it was good for me at all, hence stopping taking them. I've done the discontinuation dance before (look at my sig), it's just, it got better, and went away, not got better, and came back weeks later.
