thunderstorm
Get your Pdoc to write you a letter stating you can have this med I'm off to the US in 3 weeks (eeee! Holiday!) and I have a letter from my doc saying 'Thunderstorm is OK to not only have these meds, but have a *tonne* of these meds on her as she is paranoid she'll lose her carry-on or suitcase and be stuck with no medication for a month'

You have a great pdoc. I just hope the customs people aren't assholes to you.
quiet storm
I'm assuming we are talking about flying in and out of country and worried about a customs issue? Dont know about that but flying within the U.S. shouldnt be a problem. Of course, I'm talking about regular amounts. Carrying a zip lock bag filled to the brim with pills might raise some suspicions, but carrying enough to hold you over for a few days shouldnt be a problem. I usually carry an old prescription bottle full of various pills that would hold me over for a week in my back pack I carry along in case they lost my luggage. Never had any problems. Again I'm talking traveling in the U.S. only. TSA's requirements on medication(Scroll down to medications section). No requirements for medications to be labeled: [link=http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/editorial_1374.shtm#4" target="_blank]http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/spe...ial_1374.shtm#4[/link]
gizmo
I'm on a patient assistance program that ships me factory bottles with no personalized information. Combine that with the other 4 bottles of meds I take, and I fill up a whole side compartment on my carry on. I've probably flown 15 times since being diagnosed, and I've even carried blister pack samples, and never been stopped. However, I always carry my meds in the pharmacy bottle they came in, and have a valid script for the one(s) that don't. As a funny side note, about ten years ago, I carried on 70 pounds of frozen beef (various cuts butchered on my parent's farm and processed at a wonderful small local butcher). The TSA screened my carry on bag about 4 times through the xray, openened up the bag, but let us through!
SashaSue
I've flown hither and yon with meds, and I always have them all in my carry on, as the prospect of vanished meds in a foreign country, is just too horrible to contemplate. Even on my flights to and from Israel, where they checked absolutely everything you could ever imagine they'd check, no one said a word about my personal pharmacopia. I don't think the tsa workers really care about this kind of thing, for the most part. Their focus is on looking for possibly hidden weapons, bombs, what have you. Not on what look to be perfectly legal, harmless, meds. Assuming people aren't so stupid as to be travelling with, like, a whole pot plant in their carry on, or anything else that makes it impossible for the screeners to even pretend they haven't seen it, you should be ok. Stars
The police told my son it is against the law to carry drugs of any kind unless they are in a bottle labeled correctly and inside it- correct pills - with your name on it. If you ever get stopped and they search your car and you, better have your bottles ready, valid ID and the pills in the bottle better be what the bottle says they are. If you mix pills that is what they call an indication of a drug addict or a pusher. I am just repeating what they said. Of course some police will not be that strict but they said that is the law and they can enforce it.
quiet storm
Thats why you never ever authorize a police man to search your car. They don't have a right unless you give them probable cause.
