unipolarbear
So I was having nightmares every time we titrated up on Lamictal. Now, I haven't even gone up and they're coming back -- stronger, it seems. I was up all last night, afraid to go back to sleep. On top of this, we think the lamictal is making me unbelievable sleepy during the day (we ruled out other meds). I am so afraid that if we move the pills to the nighttime dosage, I will have even stronger, stranger dreams. Maybe I should switch to something else. Anyone have any success switching to another anticonvulsant for mood stabilization? Also, do you think a dreamcatcher would even work against this powerful psychotropic drug? thanks for listening, Andrew eta: sorry I'm addressing like three separate subjects in this thread. That's just my manic mind working overtime again....
unipolarbear
SO I switched it to nighttime and what a difference! I actually got a full night's sleep. No weird nightmares (but lots of dreams for sure). and I even titrated up to 400mg. Woo-hoo!
crazyguest
When I first started Lamictal I had some wake-up-screaming-in-the-night nightmares, and I was also taking 450mg of Wellbutrin. So we dialled the WB back to 300mg and continued titrating up on the Lamictal, and haven't had any since. My lamictal dose is 200mg. My sympathies, it was absolutely horrible when it happened. I also take my Lamictal at night as it makes me sleepy anyways, and I was starting to have trouble sleeping from the beginnings of menopause. I now take ambien most nights so I get a good night's sleep. Of all factors, sleep seems to make the most difference in my mood/general mental health.
