I take 200 mg lamictal, 25 mg seroquel, 10 mg lexapro and 20 mg abilify. I take 100 mg lamictal in the morning and the rest in the evening. The seroquel knocks me out and I usually sleep all night. But, I have no energy during the day. Without the seroquel I don't sleep well and wake up several times at night.

This has been going on for a long time. I had a physical and I'm fine. My pdoc says to exercise and I'll have more energy, but it's so hard to push through this fatigue. It wasn't so bad when my kids were in school, but now they are home all day and want me to take them places and play and I just want to nap. I feel guilty for being this way.

Any advice?

Yes, I do feel groggy when I wake up.

have you considered changing sleep meds or do you think that it works well enough for what you want/are you concerned about changing? the reason I ask is that I had a similar "works wonderful for sleep but causes hangover effect" on 25 mg of Seroquel.

Two options: you could consider cutting the dose in half (using a pill cutter) or trying a similar drug. Different things work for different people, but I found that a switch to 1mg Risperdal gave me the same sleep benefits without the hangover effect. Things have changed since then as I've tried to cut back on sleep meds, but it worked well as a switch from seroquel.

Thanks. I think I'll try cutting the dose in half.

Risperdal increased my prolactin so I can't take it.

Dear God, do I feel your pain. Pushing through the fatigue can be almost impossible. What also sucks is being tired, but not being able to sleep anymore.

I moved my SNRI to the morning. As someone said, drugged sleep isn't the best quality. At any rate, that helped. But not enough - I'm going to try Buspar next, I think.

Thank you. I saw my pdoc this week and decided to go off lexapro. I'm hoping it helps.
