jarn
I may be in the market for a new AAP due to a possible bad reaction to Ziprasidone. If you are an endurance athlete, what AP/AAP do you take, do you like it, how does it affect your training if at all, what is the sedation like, etc? Thanks! mudpuppy
On a low(er) dose, I never had issues with seroquel and running/cross training.
jarn
On a low(er) dose, I never had issues with seroquel and running/cross training. Seroquel is fine for me except for the sedation - I can't train in the mornings. Have adjusted my schedule to that but don't expect to have it as my main AAP (though I do suspect I'll be staying on it awhile longer, at my low dose of 200mg), but would like to not have the sedation for other reasons!!! The one advantage Seroquel has is that on a higher dose, I couldn't sleep without it and could skip it on all night training sessions with no problems staying awake. Not sure what will happen doing an all-night training when used to the lower dose.... Thanks!

I am on 0.5 risperidone which doesnt effect it at all. The only med that made me less athletic was depakote. TG I'm off it now.
mudpuppy
Yeah, when I was on seroquel in Iraq, I couldn't do shit in the morning. Too zombied out from the drugs. There was a group i went hashing with there, at night. Like, 9pm and later. Couldn't do fuck-all on thorozine.
fuchsia groan
No problems whatsoever with the meds in my sig, or with an ex-rx, risperidone. I run 4 miles a day or practice aikido (1-2 straight hours of intense workout). Plenty of energy. Depakote was the only thing that messed me up (you too, felnx...) - I'd go running and feel like I was going to die, and just wanted to lie down. (Which is a pretty accurate picture of you depakote made me feel in general...) Oh, and I take all my meds at night.
Jane-Doe
I'm *only* on 25 mg of Seroquel, taken at night and I train for endurance. I run, jog and bike for hours on end, several times per week. But the earliest I will work out is at 11 a.m. I take the Seroquel at midnight.
