felnx
To be honest I'm a little sorry to say goodbye to lithium. I was hoping it to be the magic cure. It didn't do anything but cause fluid retention (5'11" 168-194lbs at an 1800 calorie diet WTF?) and makes my thoughts a little dull. It's really hard to describe the mental effect it had on me (help me here). It made things seem 'less interesting'. Kind of like the opposite of what pot does to music. It makes things less interesting and harder to be creative (I haven't written any poetry since on it). Can anybody else relate to this?
fuchsia groan
When I was on a higher dose of lithium, both my pdoc and I had a hell of a time trying to figure out whether what I was experiencing was residual low-level depression or lithium SEs. I felt flat and apathetic, less interested, low motivation, like what you're describing. I'll probably never know whether it was lithium, depression, or both. Eventually we got the meds tweaked just right. I no longer have any mental SEs from it, just shaky hands. Good luck...
