HereNotHere
I have been taking Seroquel 50mgs during the day + Celexa 15mgs in the morning. Then 50mgs Seroquel before bed + 25mgs Nortriptylene + 5mgs Ambien to sleep. Since I started the Celexa about a month ago, I've been tired--really tired--in the afternoon. I'm basically taking a nap every afternoon, which is not so great for my job productivity. I'm not sure if I am just depressed or if 15mgs is too much for me. And I still feel depressed anyway, just not as intensely as before. I don't see pdoc until next Thu. Not sure if I should give him a call before then, or tough it out. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I could get an appt time before then anyway. I previously tried to go up on my Seroquel to 175/200, but I was just plain tired then. It was obviously from the medication. After adding the Celexa, it's unclear to me if it is the med making me tired, or if it is just a bad combo for me. I know I'm not taking a very large amount of this stuff compared to some people. So, I don't know what is going on. Maybe I'm just a med wimp. Artemisia
Seroquel is pretty damn sedating (or at least sleep-inducing), but Celexa can be, too, so it's hard to figure out whether it's med-induced or depression-induced... I'd have a serious chat with your psychiatrist about your symptoms/side effects. Good luck.
tryp
You might need more, not less. I was still tired and lethargic on 20 mg of Celexa/150 mg of Seroquel, and it turned out to be untreated depression and went away when I increased my celexa to 30 mg. But it's definitely worth chatting to your psychiatrist about.
HereNotHere
Thanks. Will definitely ask about it.
Kyzr
I've not been on Seroquel before, but I started taking 5mg of Celexa a month ago and I'm constantly caffeinating myself to stay awake. I've only taken it at bedtime though, because of previous experience with SSRIs putting me to sleep.
HereNotHere
I decided to stick with it until my next appointment (later this week). I am no longer exceedingly tired in the afternoon. I'm still planning on mentioning it to the pdoc though.
