Are there really big differences in how effective luvox cr, lexapro, or zoloft are for 'o' type ocd? I also take adderall with clonazapem and my zoloft dose is at 100mg. Right now my sleep isn't great but I have not been taking the ambien I have either, my own faault.

I

so today the pdoc told me he won't move me to luvox or lexapro until I go

up to 150 of zoloft for a few weeks. Is 100mg good for ocd and what would you pick for the next option?

Cymbalta & Pristiq suck for me, prozac didn't work either.

All 3 of those are SSRI's, so they all nearly work the same. Typically effectiveness is subjective with medications (the effectiveness is different to everyone), and may or may not help. I am on Lexapro for depression/OCD, and it works well.

I'd give Zoloft a chance. It may not have worked so far, but you may need to give it more time to work or take a high dosage. The benificial effects of a dose increase will probably take about a month to show, so you've got to be patient. If Zoloft doesn't work, I'd probably want to try Luvox-CR next. It's known to be the SSRI for OCD. I'm not sure wether that's because it works so well for OCD or because it didn't prove to be effective for depression. Anafranil is an older type of drug which I've heard is the best for OCD. It probably will have more significant side-effects though so it might be a last resort.

Zoloft was basically ineffective for my OCD symptoms at 100mg, but when I went up to 200mg the improvement was almost immediately visible. If you tolerate Zoloft well, definitely try to adjust the dosage, I think, before changing medication type.

OCD generally responds better to OCD at the high end of the dosing range, often above FDA recommended doses for other indication. I wouldn't give up on the zoloft until you've tried at least 200mgs, the max recommended for other indications.
