Renegade
I know I'm a rapid cycler , but is there any way to stop getting this message when I post: The administrator has limited the number of new posts you can submit within a short time frame. Velvet Elvis
Sorry, that's to keep us from getting flooded by spam bots. It used to be higher.
AirMarshall
It's called a "Flood Control" used to prevent spamming, Denial of Service attacks, etc. Yes, it COULD be adjusted. That's up to Admin Velvet Elvis. a.m. p.s. Look at it this way; we are protecting you from yourself.

Yes, the flood control can be annoying if you have a lot to say and want to, well, say it. On the other hand, you have to see how dangerous it can be for continuous spam posts to be made with *NO* time to even catch it. We currently have it at 90 seconds and yet we still get spam. If it was lower, it would be much worse, though (and it has been). There is no guarantee that a moderator will be here when spam is posted. We all have jobs, lives, illnesses, etc. This helps us to not get bombed. Not to mention that the list of moderators that you look at might look huge, but not everyone is actually an active, contributing moderator. I'm sorry for the ranty tangent. So, anyway, that is the deal, Renegade. It is one of those small inconveniences that just contributes to the well-being of the site. I'm sorry if it bothers you. It can get frustrating once in a while and I do understand where you are coming from, really, but it really is for the best.

That was funny, I remember doing it that way a long time ago.. But it is a stress free life, I remember dial up and that loud annoying screechy noise it made when it initiated.
