Hi all,

Well, I'm back from the eye doctor, and found out that while I don't have full-blown cataracts, he believes that the process has started and wants to check my eyes again in January. One of the reasons he was suspicious is that my glasses prescription has changed again, for the fourth time in three years. (Needless to say, I do not have the money to have a new pair of glasses made, so I guess I'm stuck with my magnifying glass.)

Anyway, I did some checking up, and found that cataracts are listed as a rare possible side effect of Seroquel. According to my eye doctor, it is now only a matter of time until the lenses really start clouding up. Apparently the process is irreversible. BUT, it could be worse. Other than that my eyes are fine, so thank god I'm not actually going blind.

Hope everyone else is doing fine,

Newt

Well, the good news is that cataracts are usually very treatable, but the bad news is that you have to wait for them to be "ripe" before they can be operated on. I have a cataract in one eye, but it isn't bad enough to fix yet.

I'm glad you can still see. Is there a Lion's Club in your area that might help you get new glasses? They are a service club and their pet "cause" is vision and eye health. Maybe there's a way to get glasses for you.
