gizmo
Gota lithium level of 1.8 monday People have been looking at me with that oh shit look. I do n't really feel different, or what not. Now I've gotten two more blood draws , after the last one they yankked th abilify . I don't know wif t his is sad more thatn strange. I don't care. I'm haviing bad hallucinations First off, wow. I never knew you could get a 1.8 from 900mg a day of lithium (then again, I don't read many lithium studies). I once got a 1.2 on 1200mg a day, and I was downing 220 ounces of water a day and my hands were shaking all over the place (which might be your case, judging by your post typing). You'll go off the lithium for a few days, get another blood draw, and when it's satisfactorily low, start at a lower dose. All better. I don't know if the hallucinations are the result of the toxicity or not - I'm sure a more experienced poster will answer that question.
pinkiemarie
Everybody metabolizes the drug differently so it's not surprising that you could get a really high level, especially if you've been exercising or not drinking enough water, etc. 1.8 is pretty high. You're lucky they caught it!
Silver
Glad they caught it. Maybe no tremor because of the primidone? 1.5 is considered the high end of outpatient trough level. Depending on how many hours after your last dose they drew it, your actual trough level may have been higher or lower. That is a surprisingly high level for 900mg per day in someone who isn't on diuretics or NSAIDs, so I hope they figure out the reason. I also hope you're feeling better soon. pinkiemarie
I have another question besides drinking enough water...have you been eating? That could also affect your levels.
