netsavy006
I was taking Depakote at one time in the past and if placed back on Clozaril would switch from Lithium to Depakote. Lithium really isn't doing much (if anything) to keep me stable. I did try the Depakote in the hospital and the day of discharge my level was just under therapeutic. (I was on 250mg 2x/day). About a week to 2 weeks later I was developing depression (like not wanting to get out of bed, go to class), and they did another blood level check at the hospital and the level was lower than when I left. Is it possible to "re-challenge" Depokote because maybe I didn't take it long enough or take the right dose?
gizmo
I don't know anything about depakote. But don't make me post your previous topic about how much better you felt on lithium again. No matter what I post, I really am rooting for you, Andy. I always am hoping you get stability.
SashaSue
Why would clozaril prompt a switch from lithium to depakote?
steves
i take depakote 2000mg a day, and find it works better than lithium for me. I was on both at one time
SashaSue
FWIW, I don't think depakote usually does a whole lot for depression.
