engravedshadow
what's a good alternitive for zoloft? I don't want to take zoloft anymore. it doesn't really help, and it makes me tried as hell. of course my gdoc is saying i'm bipolar and trying to get me on bipolar meds, but i don't really think so, and i hope my pdoc agrees with me on thursday. if he does, what else can i ask for besides zoloft? i just don't like it because i have too many side effects on it. i'm tired as hell, and i experience nausea and vomiting with it too. Any of the SSRIs or even maybe an SNRI or if you wanna get really wild an NRI(isn't that what Wellbutrin is, I forget). There are lots of ADs out there. I don't know which other ones you've tried, if any. Just have to talk to your pdoc and get his/her opinion on your options. It sounds like you need to stop letting your gdoc treat your MI and hand the reigns over to your pdoc. If you are indeed BP, then an AD might not even be the best option for you. Then again, plenty of BP folks take an AD...like me. I take Wellbutrin which I think is one of the safer ADs for BP folks.
engravedshadow
that's what im hoping will happen on thursday, that the Pdoce will take over. i'm supposed to leave a tcon with my PCM and tell her what he said. hopefully i can get something better than zoloft. and no, i haven't tried anything besides the zoloft yet. so hopefully something else will work out much better for me. thank you for the suggestions. remedy48
There are plenty of other antidepressants out there besides zoloft. Prozac, paxil, luvox, celexa all ssri's. There are also snri's such as effexor and cymbalta.
Maceo
Lexapro would probably be a good drug to try next seeing as it has a better side-effect profile than Zoloft.

mudpuppy
Yeah, there's a list of ADs longer than my imaginary cack out there to be tried. But the real question is, how long have you been on Zoloft?
