EveW
Hi everyone, I'm having some major problems with my medications. I feel like they are no longer working and trying to figure out what can and can not be taken together. Is anyone on Lamictal and Risperdal (or Invega) together? If so, what are you dosages and what are diagnosed with? Also are you taking any other medications with them? Thank you so much, Eve
dancesintherain
I was on both for a period of time. At about February 2009, I was on roughly 1mg Risperdal and titrating up on lamictal (on effexor 150 mg and Ativan 1.5 mg at same time). I was at 250 mg Lamictal around April/May and still at the same dose of Risperdal. I went off the Risperdal in August 2009. probable diagnosis (you can see in signature) is either bipolar II or some sort of depression/anxiety combo. The risperdal was mostly for the sleep effect and some for the super-anti-anxiety effect. Once the episode passed (May), I stayed on it for a bit and then gradually went off. EveW
I was on Risperdal at one point. It was awhile ago and I can't remember if it made me tired (like you said it helped for sleep). I really don't want to be on something that makes me more tired. I know everyone is different. Wish I could remember. I don't think I felt tired on it. I'm very curious about people's experience with Invega. My doctor wanted to put me on it when it first came out and I didn't want to because I didn't want to go on something that is brand new. Thank you danceintherain. Anyone else have experinces?

AnneMarie
I'm on 200mg of Lamictal and 3mg of Risperdal as well as Lithium and Tegretol. It is a great combination for me, finally. One of the things I like is that I get tired after taking my meds, but in more of a normal tired and ready for sleep way than Seroquel or sleeping pills. I also don't wake hung over, at least no more so than I used to before meds. This is a synergy thing from the combo of all my meds, btw. I also don't get anxious, which is saying a lot right now since my kitchen is under construction, a project which helped me on my way to a nice little mania before Risperdal. If you are looking for something to help with depression, I'd actually suggest Lithium over Risperdal. Although both help, in my experience Lithium helps with that more. Do you split your dose? Like take 100 mg in the morning and 100 at night. I never heard of Tegretol, I will have to look it up. I will really want to try adding the Risperdal to my meds. I wonder though if my doctor will say that I should do Invega instead.
Guest David Webster
My name is David. I haven't actually joined this website but I have had some awful experiences with Invega & Klonopin (Clonazepam). I need to admit 1st that I was adicted to Klonopin. But I have taken up to 16 mg a day & still didn't feel much besides a fuzzy warm happy mood, unsteady gait, slurred speech. But that was after about 10 - 15 mgs. Now, I went into a group home last year. Of course they Doctor there was not going to prescribe me Klonopin. I didn't even ask him to. It was a done deal in his head, & I could tell, so rather than make an ass out of my self I actually told him that I have had addiction problems Benzos. Especially with xanax (Alprazolam),( I want to write the generic with the brand name, because there is nothing from the pharmacy they give you that mentions the brand name of the drug.)So some people may only know Klonopin From clonazepam. Ativan (lorazepam), Serax (Oxazepam), Diazepam (Valium). And there is a bunch more that I never heard of, but I am sure I would probably be addicted to them. Anyhow, my point is that at the group I was at for 1 year were giving me 12 mg a day. When I would relapse & get my hands on some xanax or klonopin, I would take 3 or 4 & I would literally black out for hours. Like I said I would take up to 15 to 18 mg a day & remember everything. And it was not my tolerance being to low because I wasn't taking them on a daily basis. I was taking enough of them too have a high enough tolerance to not black out after taking 3 or 4 mg. So I just want to say Be very careful with that mixture. Dave davidwebster40@yahoo.com
