Psylocke
Hello! I have been recently diagnosed with 4 different disorders. 1)Personality Disorder (doc didn't specify which one, but upon reading I am leaning toward Borderline) 2) Bipolar (again not sure which kind) 3) Social Anxiety/Agoraphobia 4) possibly ADD. Last week was my first appointment with my pdoc, I was being treated by my family doc who put me on the WRONG meds that sent me into a manic phase. I never realized I had problems until my friends started getting diagnosed with things. This lead me to research things that I was feeling and lead me to my family doctor. I am currently on Seroquel, which I just started last night. I don't like it. I have been agitated and irritated and angry all day. The only thing that seems to help me is the Clonazepam that I am taking. Well that is it for now, if you would like to know more about me please visit my profile and say hey! I hope to get some answers and support on here because I do not get it in real life
EDL Chalz
hello I'm new too, I'm asuming your name is from X-Men (which is awesome if it is). I also did not like the seroquel it gave me a "robot" feeling I just switched to abilify which for me has less of tiredness feeling. Anyways really just wanted to post because of the x-men thing. LOL yes it is from X-Men. I do not like the seroquel at all. I have to talk to my doc tomorrow about it. I have been tired all day and I was unable to function and when I had to I was extremely agitated. I feel like a human guinea pig sometimes! beetle
Hi and welcome. I just wanted to say that you might want to give seroquel more than a day to judge it. It might turn out to be the wrong med for you but in general, it's best to give these medications awhile to work and let our body get used to them. We often have to endure start up side effects that we don't like just to give a med a fair trial. But this is a decision to make with your pdoc, of course. Just thought I'd give my two cents. You might try giving the med a little while before you ditch it. Because it can be so hard to find the right med or combo of meds, you don't wanna throw one out before you've given it a fair chance. Thank you for your input. I believe you are probably right. My mind thinks that I should take something and miraculously be fixed LOL. Sometimes I need the push of other people to make me think differently. I just took my 2nd dose. I didn't feel any side effects except for the drowsiness, and anger. olga
I agree that you need more than a day or two to judge the effects of a drug. Seroquel might turn out to be a wonderful medicine for you, if you can give it a good trial. Also, if you aren't seeing a therapist, that might be another avenue to explore. We encourage our members to try a three-pronged approach: 1) Meds 2) Therapy 3) Healthy lifestyle. It's boring as hell to eat well, exercise, and get a good amount of sleep, but for a lot of us it works. Welcome to our little asylum and I hope you like it here. olga

LunaRufina
Hi, welcome! Like others said, thera[y is a good avenue to explore. With personality disorders it is key and also it has been shown that for many things [though not all] meds plus therapy= better results. I know I've seen you in chat, I'm glad you stopped in. I'd encourage you to check out the blogs as well if you haven't done so. We also have a gallery for our members. Let a mod or admin know if you have any questions, or go ahead and post one of them.
