helenllama Posted December 1, 2009 Share Posted December 1, 2009 When I started on Cymbalta in April, It made me very :devlish:both cycling (higher and lower) and well blatently suicidal to the point of ending up at the out of hours GP and the Psychiatric Emergency Team. However that dosage has now stoped working and the meds can be increased. could the dosage increase will cause side effects? could the possible side effects be the same ones? Anyway, after being baffled by what I just read, I'll go ahead and throw in my two cents. Whenever I increase meds, I DO experience side effects, typically the same ones as I had when starting the med, but not to the same level of severity and certainly not for the same length of time. That being said, maybe you are on different meds at this point in time that might help with the side effects you experienced initially? Were you on a mood stabilizer the first time around? If you are bipolar, I'm sure you aren't supposed to just take an AD by itself because of the side effects you just mentioned, I think they are supposed to be taken with a mood stabilizer as well, but I'm no doctor and I'm not bipolar, so I don't know. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, maybe you will have the same side effects, maybe you won't. Good answer, right? Sorry, that's all I think I know.
