bewilderness
Hi, I was wondering has anyone had flu-like symptoms from taking Seroquel? Like difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, sore throat? I'd been having them, but they usually go away after a day or two. But I went off my meds last week because I had to drive somewhere and the Seroquel is too sedating and then Friday when I took it, instead of going away, the symptoms seem to have developed into full-blown flu. Anyone else have this happen? Could part of it be an allergic reaction? Ugh, I hate being sick.
crazyashell
Hi B. the worst I've had with an AP is a plugged nose, scratchy throat. Since you have trouble breathing & muscle weakness i would be very careful that it is not an allergic reaction. It could pose a health risk to you. Maybe you should abstain from it & see a Doc asap. Especially if it goes away when you're not taking it. IMHO that is. i am no doc, just concerned. I have had asthmatic reactions before from stuff, its no fun. I have not taken seroquel, but risperdal is very close, in the same family anyway. Hope you feel better. CAH
Fiona
Check out the PI sheets for Seroquel -- you can get them through the main crazymeds site -- "flu-like symptoms" may be on there. Make sure it's not an allergy -- that is that your throat is not closing up completely or you can't eat or drink anything. The symptoms should pass. I've been on Seroquel a long time and haven't had any ongoing trouble. Fiona
pressmama
I've been on Seroquel for almost 3 months and have stuffiness for the first 2 hours after taking it as well as weakness on standing for the same period. I think my occassional sore throat is due to environmental allergies. Hopefully this is helpful...
