ooh_shiny!
Hi, So I've realized that during the early days of getting used to abilify, I would wake up from a nap during the daytime shaking. My whole body was shaking pretty hard. Sometimes, if i take xanax during the day (it sometimes puts me to sleep), i'll wake up shaking about an hour later. It didn't happen before i started taking these two medications. In fact, I was never able to nap until after i had my first manic episode! Strange, isn't it? but I was just wondering what the whole shaking thing was about, and if anyone else experiences this. The shaking can last up to 10 minutes or so, and its pretty much involuntary. AnneMarie
I haven't experienced anything like that. Drugged after sleeping medicated, yes, but not shaking. That would be a wise thing to bring up with your psychiatrist. The doc can assess it and adjust meds as appropriate. I'd bring it up sooner than later simply because it does not sound pleasant and is a little unusual.

I often wake up with a pounding heart. Kind of like I am mid-panic attack as I'm coming to.

AirMarshall
shaking after awakening can be a symptom of Essential Tremor. My pdoc just helped me with that dx after 20 years of trying to figure out what I had. a.m. [EDIT: my comment may not have any direct bearing. But it is an odd thing, I jus wanted to point out my similar though unmedicated experience.]
