koali777
I read everywhere that the standard dosage for bipolar people is 10 mg twice a day (schizophrenics use 5 mg twice a day). My doctor said to only take it at night. I'm wondering why this is. Is there some fatality that comes from taking it twice a day? That's actually recommended. Maddy
Some people find it too sedating to take twice daily. I'm ok'd to take it all at night if I find it too sedating.
koali777
Okay, so it won't affect me badly if I take it twice? I mean, if course I'll talk to my doctor first. But I want to try cause it starts wearing off in the afternoon and I hate that but can't take it till bedtime. I find it VERY sedating too. Sort of like you're wide awake and then 20 minutes later you're out cold.
Maddy
I have no problems taking it twice a day. That's what my pdoc told me to do. I take 5mgs AM and 5mgs at bedtime. He wants me to up it to 10mgs in a week or so. As long as I tolerate it well.
