Cogentin and blurred vision

Recommended Posts

Does this ever go away? It comes and goes. Anyone else had this problem?

If it turns out that I can't take Cogentin then I can't take APs.

That is a very common side effect of Cogentin.  Other common side effects are weight gain, sedation, constipation, dry mouth, and urination difficulties.  These are due to the anticholinergic properties of Cogentin.  I guess you could try a lower dose if possible.  I never found a dose that was effective and had minimal side effects.  I did really well on Symmetryl which is another anti-parkinsonian drug.  It doesn't have anticholinergic properties.

Katie ;)
