Hi there!

Hi there,

Xander from Holland here, trying my best not to make too many spelling mistakes...

I'm 32 years old, and have been struggeling with pure obsessional OCD for 15 years; intrusive thoughts around the clock - never a dull moment. I've recently started taking Luvox again (or Fevarin, as us clog-wearers call it...) and I'm still waiting for it to take effect. I'm currently on 200 mg of the stuff, and 0,25 mg of Xanax.

My current day-to-day activities include playing with my two dogs, listening to music, writing, surfing the net in search of some miraculous cure for all that ails me, and trying to keep my sanity. I don't have a steady job at the moment due to my neuroses, so I try to make myself useful at various animal shelters in my neighborhood.

Well, that's about it for now; hope to see you soon somewhere on this forum.

Best, Xander.

Xander,

After 'lurking' about this site for a while I, too, am rather new.  This site has been incredibly helpful to me, especially when I have one of my many sleepless nights and nobody (who's awake) to talk to, not to mention the myriad of questions I have about my meds.  I take great comfort knowing that there are others who have had the same reactions/situations as I.    Take care.  I hope you get as much out of this site as I do.

hi xander,

welcome to the boards. you sound like you'll fit right in here. there are several people i know offhand who have OCD and can relate to you. although i have not been diagnosed, i think i have some minor OCD tendencies that mostly go on in my head so they don't really show. however, i am truly ignorant of OCD so i could easily be wrong about my own 'problems' with it.

this place is pretty much my second home and has a lot to offer, both info-wise and socially. let's face it, being able to talk to people who understand your problems is like a god-send.

Thanks for the words of welcome, guys! Yes, it really is a blessing to be able to talk to people who can relate to your so-called disorders. As a certified insomniac myself, I'll probably be spending a lot of time here as well...

Take care, Xander.
