Guest Manontherun111
Fuck this stuff is making me so depressed, If it continues much longer im quitting, its getting to the point that my mind is infatuated with thoughts of death and ideas, stood on the roof of a 10 story building today, thinking about how easy it could be, a phone call probably saved my life, needless to say, ill be avoiding situations like that for the next few days, I have never been on a med that made me loose work, but if i feel like this, i cant work, random bouts of crying also, is this a " normal " reaction to lithium? what else should i expect? Dear Man, I am sorry to read that you are in such a suicidal state. This is not a normal reaction to Lithium. For the 50% of manic depressives that it helps the positive reaction is soon - sometimes in a few days. And you would feel calm and more even. I have never heard of anyone having this type of negative suicidal reaction. Usually if there is a problem it is on the order of feeling woozy or sick to your stomache or some other physical problem. Manontherun, you need to call your doctor. Right away. Leave a message with the answering service tonight with some details. If you can't keep it together you need to go to the Emergency Room. Do you have anyone in the house or apartment with you? You should not be alone. I know it is late at night. If you are alone do you have a friend or neighbor that you can stay with? To recap, this is not a normal reaction to Lithium. You need to call your doctor. And you should not be alone. Hang in there.
Lolie
Call your doctor NOW. If you can't get hold of your doctor, call an ambulance. Don't try and wait this out. You may need other meds to keep you stable until the lithium leaves your system, and you probably shouldn't be alone until this is under control. This should not be happening and only the experts can sort out why it has.
