bella_mania
I posted this in the SSRI pt 2 forum but thought I might get even more info if I post here, too. Anyway, I'm in the process of weaning off of Lexapro and I'm hoping to lose the 30+ lbs I gained while on it. Has anyone had any experience losing weight they've gained while on Lex once they get off of it? Thanks for any info!!
Spike
bella_mania, hi! just my experience, but I lost weight after stopping Lexapro total weight loss is almost 150 lbs but that was not from the Lex alone! but I did lose about 40 more after stopping it. spike
bella_mania
Hi & thanks for the good news, Spike. At least I know there is weight loss after Lex. Congrats on your 150lb loss...that's substantial! You must be happy 'bout that!
Spike
thanks, bella-mania yeah, I am happy about that loss of weight! I tell folks that I "lost' my evil twin sister 'course it did take me almost two years to lose all of it. still have about 15 more I'm trying to lose but those pounds are like super glue, dammit. spike

You are so right! Looks like I've got around 15 lbs to lose, too. What are you doing as far as exercise & eating go? For me, exercise is the easy part. I eat "right" and the portions are "appropriate" but some days are easier than others. And for me, I'm all about instant gratification and weight loss does not fall into that category! bella_mania
Way to go! and congratulations...how did you do it? spike <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It must be my workouts. My eating's been the same but I wasn't working out much in August due to vacation and then some voluntary rest for some aches and pains that I didn't want to get worse. I've finally gotten back to the gym after all that. Plus I think the reduction in Lex is helping me let go of some of the weight, too. Spike, let me ask you something: do you think the weightloss you experienced had more to do with your eating and exercise plan than the fact that you stopped Lex? Spike
bella-mania, to be honest--and it's only my opinion!--but I think stopping the Lex was the biggest factor. I do eat sensibly, but I'm limited in physical activities due to my handicap. after I quit the Lex, the weight came off much faster without any changes or restrictions on my diet spike
