ehygon
I've been seeing a second psychiatrist on a consultation basis, and she mentioned maybe working my way off all medication, or perhaps working down on some to see if there is any actual benefit from taking it. She said this would probably help clarify my diagnosis, because treating symptoms as they occur has not been a successful route thus far. I am interested in trying this. The last time it was mentioned, I was about to begin school again, and said no out of fear my grades would be affected. This time I feel more inclined because I simply want relief, and with the 30ish meds i've tried, i havent found it by switching one to another. I worry though. That I will become nonfunctioning, mostly, and that my relationships with friends family and my boyfriend will be negatively impacted. Any thoughts? Experiences? I tried searching the forum, but didn't get any results. Thanks Ehy
gizmo
I don't have any personal experiences with it, but I remember with Phoenix Rising went through a major removal/shift in her medications, and it was extremely difficult on her. Perhaps you can search for posts written by her to get an idea of where she was during the changeover. It was about 6 months ago.
