llama44
I have been on a lot of antipsychotics and abilify just seems to work the best for me. I am so greatful for it. I am so glad that they put me back on it. I was still having problems on the invega and A TON of problems on even 240mg of geodon. I just hope I don't get that restless feeling that often accompanies abilify (I'm on 20mg now). I haven't experienced it yet, so that's a good sign right? It's been about 2 weeks. I think the klonopin that I'm on is helping me not to become so restless. And I'm so much less stressed out trying to look and act so NORMAL when I was having all those psychotic or OCD like thoughts. Just wanted to share some good news! And I hope you all are doing good as well.
Thomas
I am on 20 mg. of Abilify too. I've been on it five years or so, but just went up to 20 mg. from 10 mg. a few months ago. At first the pdoc said it was giving me tardive diskenesia, but Cogentin seemed to put a stop to that. The only bad thing about it now (at the 20 mg. dose) is that it is really making me put on weight -- that's according to my pdoc. Tommy

salaatti
Great that it's working for you. It's been a small miracle for me too, I'm on 15 mg and I feel it's really helped with my depression this time around. (The first time I tried it it helped a little too much, but this time it seems to be just right.)
leopard
Glad to see that it's working for all of you. I just started it, mainly to augment the cymbalta. Do you all take antidepressants with it? Going to see what it does at 2mg, then 5mg if i need to. Do any of you find that it slows your mind down? I'm having that happen, sort of in a haze....as if it is more difficult to think clearly. It is a bit disconcerting. Hopefully this will pass. My thoughts do race sometimes, so if it can slow them down without the haze, and fix the depression; i'll be in business. The Emperor
leopard- I take an AD with it, yes. For me, at 5mg, it does seem to slow me down a bit, but that's good. It makes me REALLY drowsy at first, but that's just a start-up effect that goes away. I find that it helps a bit with anxiety and irritabillity and got me out of a shitty mood episode VERY quickly. I like it, it keeps me halfway sane!

I'm not really used to the haze and sedation. If it is temporary, It will be no problem. Do you take the full dose at night? Have you noticed any troublesome side effects? Insomnia? How is the melatonin working, btw? all the best, lpd
The Emperor
For me, the drowsiness is gone within a week or two. And yes, I still take it at night. Heh, I actually take Valerian, and the other day I missed a dose of my klonopin and just took one Valerian and was actually fine! At night, for sleep, I take two and it works very well, I find it to be a very nice herbal sedative. Not that I needed it the first couple of weeks on Abilify, not for sleep anyway, ha. I hope you do well on the Abilify, leopard!
