littleshelly Posted July 19, 2010 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Hi everyone, I previously posted a topic on Wellbutrin and got a lot of great responses from some wonderful people here. I had another visit with my family Dr. today. She is adding Lexapro to the Wellbutrin. I have been on Wellbutrin about 4 weeks. 150MG XL. Not noticing a whole lot of improvement. Maybe helping to not feel so anxious and angry but not much help with the depression. I have depression/anxiety/OCD I am hoping the combo will work. She gave me samples 10MG and told me to try half of a 10MG tablet once a day. I would like to hear from others who have been on both medications and what you experience was. Which one you stared first, why did you add the other and what dosage is working for you. I am also very nervous about the side effects of Lexapro. A long time ago I took Zoloft and it made me feel horrible, crazy. I quit it soon after starting because it scared me. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The lexapro helps me with anxiety and I'm not as depressed, but I'm still feeling down and tired. I'm going to ask him about it again when I go for my next visit. Hotmess Posted July 26, 2010 Share Posted July 26, 2010 I was on this combo for about 7 years and it worked really well for me. Previously I was on a pretty high dose of Effexor which was what took me out of a really deep depression and I was doing pretty well so the doctor suggested switching to 20mgs of Lexapro and 150mgs of Welbutrin and the combo worked well at keeping the depression away and anxiety at bay. I'm a fan of the combo. I always wondered though which drug was working for me and if one would have worked without the other. A few months ago I went off these and it was disastrous and I'm now trying something new (Lamictal) and i"m trying to decide if I should add back in the Lexapro or the Welbutrin or even try Zoloft but I'm really unsure. Knowing that Lex/ WB worked well for me I just assumed I'd go back to that but the docs seemed to want me to take a different course for now.
