NuttyJoe
I've only ever taken a few benzos, I've found ativan and valium work best for me, usually ativan PRN helps a lot, although it does make me tired, and I suffer withdrawals pretty fast from it, it still works. So what about you? Which Benzo would you recommend? ------> Most effective, least side effects <-------
tryp
I don't do benzos - they don't agree with me. I do Seroquel instead. But I've been on both Ativan and Klonopin and they both had their merits. I still pop 0.125 of Klono when I have to do something really stressful.
Velvet Elvis
I think this is a ridiculous poll and I'm tempted to close it. There is no best benzo. Different ones are going to be better for different people. That's like asking what's the best med for any other indication. They (mostly) all have uses where they are the best fits. The answer is going to be different for each person.
Velvet Elvis
I removed you poll for a few reasons, not the least of which is that a couple of the med you listed are no longer made anymore. The main reason is that there can be no answer to this question. Everyone is different and a different med will be most appropriate for each person given their symptoms and case history, including past reactions to other meds. MarkP
temazepam works great for me. For sleep, 7.5mg up to 30mg is great (30mg if I have to sleep on concrete floor or in a noisy hotel!). And every so often, I pop a dose in the daytime if I have a very stressful situation. Temazepam is basically a low-potency form of lorazepam. Withdrawals from low-potency benzos tend to be easier than withdrawals from the high-potency benzos. In the various online benzo support groups, problems with low potency benzo dependance and withdrawal are comparatively less common. Temazepam addiction is pretty rare, but the forums are filled with stories of people trying to kick clonazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam habits.
