Guest justine
I took a drug 2 months ago that was ototoxic and gave me ear ringing. The ear ringing gradually went away over the course of several weeks. It was finally low enough that I could sleep on my side again (before that, I had to sleep on my back, so both ears would hear the masking noise from the fan). Then, I started on Wellbutrin SR 150mg. The ear ringing became terrible again. My pdoc said, "Oh, the ear ringing will go away," but I did some research and found that Wellbutrin is ototoxic (ear-toxic) and the ear ringing can last a long time. So I asked to start decreasing my dose, which I have done. Just hoping that the ear ringing will go away. It's still there on the lower dose, but it's not as bad. olga
I just did a quick Google check on this and found some anecdotal evidence, but no studies or other official verification. I hope it goes away. Ringing in the ears is an unpleasant side effect olga
LynnK
Just one experience here: I had ear ringing (but quieter than yours, I think) each time I increased dosage on Wellbutrin, and it did in fact go away soon. About a week, if I remember correctly. I hope yours quiets down soon!
Guest Bob
I have ear ringing and it is loader in the evening and especially load after increasing my dose. It sounds like the ringing one experiences after being exposed to loadusic for too long. I used to work in a night club so for me it is not a worry and I can sleep fine. The positive results I have experienced out weigh this problem and it may well subside as I have only been taking the drug for a week. If I don't post again you will know it just got better. Fingers crossed!
Skitzabeth
I know this topic is a little old, but I just started Wellbutrin XL, and I noticed my ears started ringing really, really bad, and I was so confused. I've been on it for 2 weeks now, and have noticed no improvement. It's not all the time, usually as I'm trying to fall asleep, but it really feels like I was just at a rock concert or something. I hope it gets better, because I'd really like to stay on this drug longer and maybe increase the dose, because it seems to be helping a bit.
