Lamictal and Topamax together for bipolar...question

I wanted to ask what type success people who have taken both these meds together have had. What side effects if any they had too. I'm taken Topomax right now and about to go back on Lamictal when I see my dr next week. Never taken them at the same time. Does taken them together curb drinking urges too? I'm very depressed and slighly manic/irratable. I just now quit drinking on the Topamac since I it makes me a raging Bitch!
